• What is OLLI?
OLLI is the acronym for an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, a member of the 90-plus learning-in-retirement groups funded by the Bernard Osher Foundation since 2001.

• What is OLLI-CSUF?
This is the new* name of the premier learning-in-retirement community at California State University, Fullerton which has been in operation for 28 years. *(Formerly known as CLE – Continuing Learning Experience)

• Who is eligible to join OLLI-CSUF?
Membership is open to semi-retired and retired persons who are interested in continuing to learn and grow.

• Where is OLLI-CSUF located?
We are located in the Ruby Gerontology Center on the east side of the CSUF campus nearest the #57 Freeway. The area is bounded by the #57 Freeway, Yorba Linda Boulevard, State College Boulevard and Nutwood Avenue.

• When are classes held?
Classes are held Monday through Friday. Morning classes are from 10:00 a.m.- Noon. Afternoon sessions are from 1:15 – 3:15 p.m. Some social events or activities are held in the evening or on weekends.

• How do I become a member? What is the fee?
You can join at the OLLI-CSUF office as an annual member for $215, or as an associate for just one semester for $110. The fee for Summer Only is $60. Annual membership begins in the Fall semester of each year. For addtional information, please call the OLLI-CSUF office at 714.278.2446.

• Is there a discount if both spouses join?
No, all members are asked to share equally in the organization’s expenses.

• Where do I park?
Parking is included as one of your membership benefits and is available in Lot J next to Ruby Gerontology Center. Parking is also permitted in Student Lot E, if there is space available. You may not park in Faculty/Staff lots or Handicapped lots (unless you have an appropriate parking pass.)

• Am I eligible to audit University classes taught by the CSUF faculty?
Auditing is possible with the permission of the instructor. Many professors are delighted to have mature students in their classes.

• Is there homework or are there grades or exams at OLLI-CSUF?
Different classes may suggest or require reading prior to discussions. Other hands-on activities may require some work at home. There are no grades or exams.

• Do I need a college degree?
No, you just need a love of learning.

• How are classes selected for presentation?
The Curriculum Committee evaluates suggestions from members and sets up a course schedule for each semester, Fall, Spring and Summer.

• Can I be an OLLI-CSUF instructor?
Absolutely. Simply propose a course that you’d like to teach and contact the Curriculum Committee for its evaluation. Choose the term in which you would like to teach.

• Does OLLI-CSUF need volunteers?
Volunteers are always warmly welcomed. There are many activities and areas for volunteer efforts, such as acting as an instructor or program coordinator. In addition, there are many committees where your help would be appreciated.

• Is the OLLI-CSUF campus wheelchair accessible?
Yes. In addition, there is an OCTA Access Bus stop right behind the Ruby Gerontology Center. There is an easy walkway from this bus stop to the west gateway of the OLLI campus.

• Are there any extra fees other than membership dues?
Yes, there are extra fees for computer classes, special events and trips.
