Spanish Classes
beginning Spanish
Spanish Pronunciation I:   Walk the Talk

Every Monday • 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. • Room 21

Coordinator/Instructor: Marion McClatchy

Learn to talk in Spanish like you learned to talk as a child: by hearing, understanding, and repeating, without worrying about verb conjugations, and without any knowledge of the highly illogical and inconsistent English spelling system. Consider for example: “Eye saw to guise, ewe two?” which sounds the same as “I saw two guys. You too?”

An English language learner will hear in Spanish, (which is a phonetic language) both sentences as having identical phonetic spelling: “Ay so tu gays. Yu tu?” and will be learning to speak English by ear. We will learn the translation to be “Yo vi dos individuos, usted tambien?
