Description:
We want to help you discover how to locate, organize and edit photos on your PC using Picasa, available as a free download from <Google.com>. Picasa automatically locates all of your pictures in seconds and displays them in the folders where they were found. This collection of folders constitutes your 'Library' which you will use to assemble various collections into Albums. We will help you discover how to edit your photos and how to share your images with friends & family by email, creation of slide shows or movies, burning them to a CD or DVD or posting them on the web.
Goals:
You will learn how to organize your digital images into coherent albums that share a common theme. You will learn to use all of the editing features of Picasa to produce collections you will be proud of. You will learn a variety of ways to store, preserve and share your digital images. You will learn that photo editing, assembly of slide shows & movies and publishing products to the Web are feats that you can readily master.
If you complete at least two Picasa-mediated projects to be shared with the class and retained in the class archives, we and You will have achieved our minimal learning goals!
Suggested Activities to obtain the most out of your learning effort:
l Bring a flash drive (1 - 4 GB) with your own digital photos filling less than half of available space and/or a digital camera with SD card that we can show you how to download (you will still need a flash drive to carry your original & edited photos between home & Lab)..
l Please read suggested text and or watch video tutorials prior to Class and if possible spend some time practicing the activity at home, both prior to and after class.
l Your comprehension of complete series of video tutorials at http://www.learningelectric.com/picasa2/ is our main learning goal
